Affiliate Disclosure

Transparency is one of our core values. This page explains exactly how SomaticHealingLab earns money, what affiliate relationships we maintain, and how that does — and does not — affect the content we publish.

The Short Version

Some links on this site may earn us a small commission

SomaticHealingLab participates in affiliate marketing programs. When you click certain links on our site and make a purchase, we may earn a commission — at no extra cost to you. This helps us keep the site running and the content free. Our opinions and recommendations are always our own.

1. What Is Affiliate Marketing?

Affiliate marketing is a common and legitimate way for content websites to earn revenue. Here is how it works: when we recommend a product or service and include a link to it, that link may be an affiliate link — meaning it contains a tracking code unique to SomaticHealingLab.

If you click that link and go on to make a purchase within a certain timeframe (usually 24 hours to 30 days, depending on the program), we receive a small commission from the retailer or service provider. You pay exactly the same price you would have paid by going directly to the retailer. There is no surcharge, no hidden fee, and no markup applied to your purchase.

Affiliate commissions are paid by the brand or retailer — not by you. They are a standard part of how e-commerce and content publishing work together.

2. FTC Disclosure & Legal Requirement

The United States Federal Trade Commission (FTC) requires that websites clearly disclose any material connection between a content publisher and the brands or products they recommend — including affiliate relationships, sponsorships, and free products received for review.

This page serves as our site-wide disclosure in accordance with the FTC's Endorsement Guides. In addition, we include disclosure statements on individual articles, product reviews, and resource pages where affiliate links appear.

In plain English: Wherever you see a link to a product, tool, app, supplement, or service on SomaticHealingLab, there is a reasonable chance it is an affiliate link. We have a financial incentive when you purchase through these links. We are telling you this clearly and upfront, as required by law and as a matter of honesty.

If you are located outside the United States, similar disclosure requirements may apply under the laws of your country. We aim to meet the highest global standard of transparency regardless of jurisdiction.

3. Affiliate Programs We Participate In

We participate in a range of affiliate programs relevant to the somatic healing, nervous system, and wellness niche. These include but are not limited to the following categories:

Amazon Associates

We are a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, earning fees by linking to Amazon.com and affiliated sites.

Wellness Apps

Meditation, somatic practice, and mental wellness apps such as Calm, Headspace, Othership, and similar platforms.

Supplements & Wellness

Adaptogen brands, magnesium supplements, CBD products, herbal teas, and other nervous system support products.

Wearables & Tech

HRV monitors and biofeedback devices such as the Oura Ring, Whoop, HeartMath Inner Balance, and Muse headband.

Online Courses

Somatic healing, trauma recovery, and nervous system regulation courses on platforms like The Shift Network, MindValley, Teachable, and Udemy.

Therapy & Coaching Platforms

Online therapy and coaching services such as BetterHelp, where we may earn a referral fee if you sign up through our link.

This list is not exhaustive. New affiliate relationships may be added over time as we review and recommend additional products and services. The categories listed above represent our primary affiliate verticals as of the date of this disclosure.

4. Our Editorial Standards

We take our readers' trust seriously. Affiliate relationships do not determine what we write about or how we evaluate what we recommend. Our editorial process works as follows:

  • We research first. We evaluate products and services based on their quality, scientific evidence, user experience, and relevance to our audience — regardless of whether an affiliate program exists.
  • Affiliate status is secondary. If we believe something genuinely helps our readers, we may then look for an affiliate program. We do not reverse-engineer this process by choosing products based on commission rates.
  • We decline programs that do not align. We have turned down affiliate relationships for products we do not believe in, even when commission rates were attractive.
  • We use many products ourselves. Where possible, we write about products and services we have personal experience with or that have been reviewed by trusted practitioners in the somatic healing field.
  • Negative reviews are real. If a product does not meet our standards, we say so — even if we have an affiliate relationship with the brand. Our credibility with readers matters more than any individual commission.

Our content and recommendations are driven by what we believe is most useful and trustworthy for our audience. Affiliate commissions are a byproduct of that, not the driver of it.

5. How to Identify Affiliate Links

We make reasonable efforts to identify affiliate links clearly throughout our content. You may notice the following:

  • A disclosure statement near the top of articles that contain affiliate links, such as: "This article contains affiliate links. We may earn a commission if you purchase through them, at no extra cost to you."
  • Labels next to product recommendations, such as "affiliate link" or "sponsored."
  • A note within product review cards or recommendation boxes indicating a potential commission relationship.

If you are ever unsure whether a link is an affiliate link, you can assume it may be and make your purchase decision accordingly. You can always search for the product directly on the retailer's website if you prefer not to use an affiliate link.

6. Display Advertising

In addition to affiliate marketing, SomaticHealingLab may display advertisements served by third-party advertising networks, including Mediavine. These ads appear as banner advertisements on our pages and are separate from our content.

Display advertising works differently from affiliate marketing. We earn revenue based on the number of times ads are displayed and clicked, regardless of whether a purchase is made. Ad content is selected by the advertising network based on factors including your browsing history and the content of the page you are viewing.

We do not control the specific ads that are displayed on our site, and the presence of an ad does not constitute an endorsement of the advertised product or service by SomaticHealingLab.

For information about how advertising data is collected and how to manage your ad preferences, please see our Privacy Policy and the Mediavine Privacy Policy.

7. Sponsored Content & Brand Partnerships

Occasionally, SomaticHealingLab may publish sponsored content — articles, reviews, or features that are created in partnership with a brand and for which we receive compensation. When this occurs, it will be clearly labeled as "Sponsored," "Paid Partnership," or similar language at the top of the content.

We maintain editorial control over all sponsored content. Even when compensated, we do not publish false or misleading claims about products or services. Sponsored content must meet the same quality and accuracy standards as our editorial content.

If you have questions about whether a specific piece of content is sponsored, please contact us at contact@somatichealinglab.com.

8. Free Products & Gifted Items

From time to time, brands may send us complimentary products or provide free access to services for the purpose of review. When we review a product that was provided to us free of charge, we disclose this clearly within the review.

Receiving a free product does not guarantee a positive review. We evaluate all products — whether purchased, gifted, or accessed through an affiliate program — against the same honest standards. Our readers' trust is more valuable than any free item.

9. Your Choices as a Reader

You are never obligated to use our affiliate links or purchase any product we recommend. If you find our content valuable and want to support the site, using our affiliate links when you make a purchase is one way to do so — at no cost to you.

Alternatively, you can:

  • Search for the product directly on the retailer's website, bypassing our tracking link entirely.
  • Use a browser extension that blocks affiliate tracking if you prefer not to be tracked.
  • Support us through other means, such as sharing our articles, subscribing to our newsletter, or bookmarking our site for future visits.

We appreciate your readership regardless of whether you purchase through our links. The goal of SomaticHealingLab has always been to provide genuinely useful information — affiliate income makes that mission sustainable, but it is not the purpose of the site.

10. Questions & Contact

If you have any questions about our affiliate relationships, how we choose what to recommend, or whether a specific link or piece of content is affiliated or sponsored, please reach out. We are happy to provide full transparency.

Please include "Affiliate Question" in your subject line so we can respond promptly.
